2022 January Fernley Market Update

Fernley median price increased quite a bit, up by 3.6% compared to December, and up 21.0% compared to January of '21. It is still considered a sellers' market. Inventory is still low for the time being, with one month of inventory, at 1.0.

What a year it has been! As we open up the book for year 2022, we can't help but wonder what's ahead, for all of us. Whether you are looking to buy or rent in the Reno, NV area, the real estate market doesn't look like it's slowing down any time soon.

While interest rate remains to be low, the Fed is looking to increase the rate at least four times in the coming year. While the Fed is working on reducing inflation through interest rates and QE (Quatum Easement) for the market as a whole, it's time to ask ourselves, should I buy my home now? And is it still time to invest and hedge my money/cash against inflation?

For those buyers who are looking for more space and a better price tag, Fernley will continue to be a favorite. The demand will most likely continue to push the price up, until reach equlibrium for our market. Since we had a relatively short winter season, market is already picking up again.
